Where to find nice switches and sockets?

You spotted them the moment you walked through the door. So did your kids, judging by the on/off/on/off disco-situation that has been penetrating the room for the past few minutes. There's no doubt: the switches work. But you're not convinced that their dated 70's look will blend in with your dream interior.... We've got you covered! Non-negotiables, electrical outlets and switches are a detail that can change the look of a kitchen, bathroom or living room. But where to find models that tick all your boxes? Here's a look at a few our favourites.

Zangra

We thought after admiring them at interior designer Quitterie de Pascal's place and in the Bulle de Savon by Space Factory, it would be an easy decision. But that was without knowing all the possible options: black or white? push-button or push-and-turn? brass or nickel? As if that wasn't enough, Zangra has just released a steel version of its porcelain switches and sockets that can come in all the colours of the rainbow.

All that's left to decide is where to put them!

Legrand

The ultra discreet white switches in the Green 01 - Amandier grisé kitchen by Dominique de Joux? That's them!
The black ones blended into Anthony Dacci's kitchen? Them too.

Ask your fitter, we're willing to bet they'll suggest the same supplier. In short, Legrand is everywhere. Sober and refined, its flagship models Dooxie and Céliane are the perfect pair for most interiors thanks to their endless finishes. Although more classic than ceramic, they are also more economical.

THPG

With their vintage look, porcelain switches and sockets are making their mark. The only downside is their price, which can quickly break the budget. Margaux Mezaco, interior designer/co-founder of the Transition Id avoided this pitfall while renovating her flat by opting for the THPG Duroplast models from L'Heure Industrielle. Same look, same style: their composite plastic structure provides the perfect illusion and withstands daily use.

Arnould

They are certainly eye-catchers! Not an Instagram post of Sabine Mérillon's studio kitchen goes by without the question popping up: where do those sockets come from?! Dressed in brass, they attract light and transform a common constraint into a decorative piece. Good news, we have the answer: it was in the Epure range by Arnould that Sabine found these little gems. Use them in small touches to give your room a high-end look.

Modelec

Sleek design, contemporary finish and a much lighter price than its style would suggest: the Karo range by Modelec has it all! Interior designer Vincent Morin made them the common thread of this flat in the heart of Paris by placing black sockets and switches in each room. Placed against the waxed concrete effect tiles, they underline the character of the bathroom and echo the matte black sink and taps.
