A floating Storm and Walnut unit - shopping list
Practical details

Some practical details

  • For this project, we used Ikea Metod cabinets measuring 37cm deep, which we fixed together and attached to the wall using a rail.

  • Doors and hinges: our doors are pre-drilled to fix directly onto Metod cabinets. You will need 2 Utrusta hinges per door (you'll need to buy these at Ikea).

  • Sides: Our cover panels which hide each cabinet side are drilled in place from the inside of a cabinet, using screws measuring 25-30mm.

  • Cuts: To recreate this project, 3 cuts are necessary. You will need to cut your cover panel measuring 39x60cm in two in order to cover the top of the 30x80cm cabinets (placed on each side on the unit). You will also need to cut the 39x40cm panel to hide the interior sides of the cabinets.

  • You will also need to cut your 39x80cm panel to 39x76.8cm in order to fix it to the upper part of the niche.
