Questions about our commitments?

Where are your products produced?

At Plum Living, we are committed to a socially and environmentally-sound business model: for this reasonal, the production of all our products is done locally.

  • Fronts in matte lacquer and brass plinths: France and Germany
  • Fronts in natural wood, painted wood or cane: Portugal.
  • Paint: France, in Ressource's factory.
  • Ceramic tiles: Spain.
  • Taps: Portugal.
  • Handles Bulle, Linéa and Coqui (polished brass) : designed from A to Z in France.
  • Other handles: production managed by the same French supplier, with production of raw materials from an Indian supplier. Final treatment of brass, chrome and matte black finished in ateliers in France.

What materials are Plum Living products made from?

Fronts

  • Our fronts in matte lacquer are produced from a panel of MDF, covered with a layer of melamine. We then apply a preparation coat, on which the lacquer is sprayed by a robot. It covers the front face, back face and the edges.
  • Our fronts in natural wood - in oak or walnut - are produced from a chipboard panel, which is then wrapped in a fine sheet of real oak or walnut wood. It is then sealed with a coat of protective, matte varnish.
  • For our painted wood fronts, we apply a thin sheet of real oak wood on a chipboard panel, which is then sprayed in a paint booth.
  • For our U-shape design, the handle sections are produced using real solid wood, which is then glued to the original panel of MDF.
  • For natural wood cane and rattan fronts, there is a small technical distinction: the base material is not MDF, but plywood (also known as multi-ply). This base is then veneered with oak sheets, which are subsequently painted in a spray booth. Painted wood cane and rattan fronts, on the other hand, are made from MDF panels.
  • Cane and rattan are natural, flexible and lightweight materials, made from woven reeds.

Plinths

  • Our brass plinths are made from MDF, which is then covered in laminate. The front face of the plinth is covered with sheet of laminate brushed brass, the edges are laminate natural oak, and its back is in melamine.

Handles

  • All our handles are made either from brass, polished, lacquered or brushed depending on the model, or from solid wood (oak or walnut), with each piece featuring natural variations in colour and grain.
  • Our handles in matte black are covered in what is called epoxy paint, which gives a pretty, velvety matte look.
  • Our chrome handles are made of solid brass, which is then covered with a layer of nickel, which gives them a silver appearance.Find all of our handles here.

Paint

  • Our wall paint and primers are water-based (or acrylic).

What is the composition of your paint? What are its VOC emissions?

Our wall paint is water-based, and rated A+. This means that it does not pollute the air inside your home. Here is more detail about our VOC emissions:
- Satin paint: <2g/L
- Primer: <5g/L

Find the precise list of components here: 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, 2-méthyl- 2H-isothiazole-3-one and mix of: 5-chloro-2-méthyl- 2H-isothiazol-3-one; 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1)

Some information about VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds):
European legislation limits VOC levels in paints sold in Europe. A VOC-free paint is any paint that has a level lower than 5g/litre. The level of VOC is indicated on the pot, on a scale from A+ (very little emissions) to C (high emissions).
