• Other handles: Production is managed by the same French manufacturer, who oversees initial shaping with an Indian partner before completing the final hand-tooling and finishing (in brass, chrome, or matt black) in their French workshops.

Fronts

• The core of our fronts is made from medium-density fibreboard (MDF) or chipboard.
• Our matt lacquer fronts are crafted from an MDF panel faced with a layer of melamine. We then apply a primer coat before spraying the lacquer via precision robotics across the front, back, and all edges.
• Our natural wood fronts—whether in oak, honey oak, or walnut—are engineered from a chipboard core veneered with real wood sheets. For our oak and walnut finishes, the veneer is protected by a matt varnish, while the honey oak finish undergoes a tinted stain treatment prior to applying the same protective matt varnish.
• For our painted wood fronts, we apply a natural oak veneer onto the chipboard panel, which is then spray-painted in a paint booth to retain the natural grain texture.
• Additionally, the integrated U-Shape handles on our fronts are crafted from solid wood.
• Our cane and raffia fronts feature a unique construction: they are built from a sturdy plywood panel veneered with real oak sheets. Depending on the chosen finish, these are then either spray-painted in a paint booth or protected with a clear varnish.
• Both cane and raffia are lightweight, flexible natural materials woven directly from natural reeds.

Plinths

• Our brass plinths are crafted around an MDF core. The front face of the plinth is surfaced with a brushed brass laminate sheet, while the edges are finished in an oak-effect laminate and the back in melamine. Once installed, the edges and back are completely hidden, leaving only the brushed brass face visible.

Handles

• All our handles are crafted either from brass (polished, lacquered, brushed, or painted, depending on the model) or from solid wood (oak or walnut), with each individual piece displaying natural variations in tone and grain.
• Our matt black handles are coated with an epoxy powder coating, giving them a beautifully soft, velvet-matt finish.
• Our chrome handles are made from solid brass finished with a layer of nickel plating to achieve their distinct silver luster. You can explore our full collection of handles here.

Paint

• Our wall paints and undercoats are water-based (acrylic).

Worktops

• Our laminate worktops are engineered from a chipboard core surfaced with a sheet of laminate on the top face only.
• Our compact laminate worktops are crafted from a high-density MDF core, surfaced with laminate on both the top and bottom faces.
• Our mineral stone worktops are made from composite mineral stone (86% minerals & glass) and plant-based resin.

Our wall paints are water-based and rated A+, meaning they do not compromise your indoor air quality. Here is the detailed breakdown of volatile organic compounds (VOCs):

• Satin paint: < 2 g/L
• Undercoat: < 5 g/L

A note on VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds):

European regulations aim to limit the total VOC content in paints sold across Europe. A paint classed as "VOC-free" is any paint with a level below 5 g/litre. VOC emissions are indicated on the tin using a rating scale from A+ (very low emissions) to C (high emissions).

• Plum Living offers a 2-year guarantee against manufacturing defects and finish flaws (such as peeling paint or warped doors). Our guarantee does not cover wear and tear or damage resulting from daily use (such as knocks, dents, or impact damage).
• For the Metod kitchen system, Ikea provides a 25-year guarantee covering defects in materials and workmanship. These guarantees apply strictly to domestic kitchen use and are subject to terms and conditions.

Our fronts are crafted using premium materials, such as multi-coat lacquer and real wood veneers, with meticulous attention to detail and finishing. They are produced in specialist workshops focused on high-end fit-outs, which also collaborate with the leading French and German brands in the sector. This high manufacturing standard gives them a quality and finish clearly superior to mass-market fronts, which are often made from laminate—a material composed mainly of layers of paper and resin.

Our fronts are designed to last for many years thanks to robust materials and finishes adapted for everyday use. They also come with a 2-year guarantee covering any manufacturing or finishing defects.

Producing to order allows us to offer you hundreds of front dimensions, as well as over 200 colour, wood, and design options for a high level of personalisation.

With so many possibilities, every order is unique. That is why we do not work from stock and require this lead time to manufacture your project under the best possible conditions.

Made-to-order manufacturing also has the advantage of avoiding overproduction, overstocking, and unnecessary transport. It is a production model that adapts to actual demand.
