Take an atypical architecture, which embraces concrete and raw materials. Add a good dose of colour, sprinkle it all with second-hand treasures, and you get a guest house with the feel of a country home. Situated in Bordeaux, Maison Hubert was designed with family and groups in mind. Time for a guided tour!
Colourama
Red, blue, orange, yellow, green... Each suite has been designed around a strong colour that sets the tone, from the living room to the bathroom. From light fixtures to wallpapers, Lola, one of the founder, has played with different shades to create unity. The vintage objects, on the other hand, match these different palettes to add an extra touch of soul to the guest rooms.
Child's play
With their wooden feet painted in the same shade as our fronts, the buffets made of Metod cabinets become colourful sideboards that find their place in every kitchenette! Look closer: the framed doors bring depth to the units and give them a shaker look that blends perfectly into this place designed as a country house.
Raw materials
Lola and her team decided to leave the concrete structural elements exposed, and to enhance them by combining them with custom-made joinery and chic fabrics such as velvet. Seating areas were created on either side of the windows to add some gorgeous texture. The stairs, on the other hand, were made of metal to reinforce the contemporary look of the rooms.
