Create a TV stand with Ikea cabinet frames
You’ve been told this before: no screens in the middle of the living room, even more importantly - no TV furniture (some of which arguably should be left in the early 2000s). Don’t even think about mounting your TV on the wall! These limitations may make you feel as though you’re left with very little choice. But this doesn't mean you need to totally give up on your interior design dreams! Between custom-made creations, adjustable panels, and high-quality cabinets, let’s take a look at the designs that bring a bit of glow to our black screens.
(Almost) no screen
Let’s turn that problem on its head. Maybe it’s a clear conclusion: to live happily ever after, we can live with a hidden TV. Interior designer Charlotte Féquet has mastered this art by using these wicker panels which blend perfectly with the overall room design, while discreetly hiding the screen that we would rather not see a lot of the time. The TV has no place in the bedroom, right? You may think otherwise when it can be tucked away, as we see in this wardrobe designed by interior designer Laurine Menesson, using our Green 03 - Vert de gris wicker doors. Step one: creating the wardrobe of your dreams by combining Pax and Method cabinet frames. Add our fronts, and finish it off by leaving an open space - this is where your TV can live. Now comes the real challenge: choosing between a blockbuster and arthouse film.
Star of the show
Rather than playing hide-and-seek with your TV, why not create a custom piece of furniture that’s so bold and beautiful, it steals the show? This blue arch layout is designed by Sabine Mérillon. Don’t let how impressive it looks put you off: it’s actually quite simple to make. Sabine used 37cm Method wall cabinet frames, which she screwed together before highlighting them with oak finishing panels that create contrast. The TV stands out less as a result, and a couple of unique objects are also stored above.
