Front dimensions

The dimensions of each of our fronts are available on our e-shop. Choose the design, finish and color to find the complete product list.
Please note that since our fronts are mainly manufactured by hand, there may be a margin of 1 mm between the theoretical and actual dimensions.📏

Front thickness

Our doors and drawer fronts are between 19 and 20 mm thick, depending on the finish, and fall into the m3 category. Our finishing panels are 16 mm thick. Our plinths are 16 mm thick in lacquer and 19 mm in painted oak, natural oak and natural walnut finishes.
The veneer on our painted oak, natural oak and natural walnut fronts is 0.5 mm thick.

Plinth height

Our plinths are 8 cm high. If you want a higher plinth, you can opt to use a 15x240cm finishing panel as a plinth. To install the plinth, screw the attachment ring into the finishing panel and clip the ring onto the Metod foot.

Special features of cane and raffia Metod doors

Some front sizes are not available in all designs. This is particularly true of cane or raffia Metod fronts: as the natural fibre is stretched between the frame, the front is subjected to considerable tension, which for reasons of stability is not compatible with large sizes.

For Pax fronts, which are higher in size, we have developed a mechanism to hold the door in place and prevent it from buckling under the pressure of the fibre over time. We have chosen not to replicate this mechanism on Metod doors (and therefore not to offer large sizes in the cane and raffia designs) for cost reasons: the price of these doors would be much higher than that of the other designs.

However, it is entirely possible to design a Metod kitchen or layout in cane or raffia, for example by combining cane or raffia doors with straight, U-shape or framed fronts. And the result is generally more airy! Here are a few examples:

A shaker kitchen in grey almond raffia
A cane sideboard
Bathroom furniture in cane & Beige 01 - Beige rosé

You can also create a large door with 2 small cane or raffia doors by connecting them with a connecting rail.
