It's one of the advantages of adulthood: theoretically, you no longer need to push your bed into a corner to free up floor space. Enjoy! Placed in the middle of the room, a bed helps structure the space. Add a floating headboard created from Metod cabinets, some semi-circle shaped wooden rods painted in Jungle and ta da! Behind it, add a wall of cane wardrobe doors and tuck away all your clothes.

Some practical info

    In this project, we used 37cm deep Metod high cabinets that we secured together and placed on the floor.

    Doors and hinges: our doors are pre-drilled to attach to Metod cabinets. Plan for 6 packs of 2 Utrusta hinges (to be purchased at Ikea).

  • Drawers: our drawer fronts are pre-drilled to attach to Ikea Maximera drawer rails only.

    Sides: The finishing panels that dress the cabinets are screwed from the inside, with 25 to 30mm screws.

    Cuts: no cuts necessary for the realization of this project.

    To dress the back of this headboard, we used circular wooden battens, which we attached to the cabinets and painted with our Jungle paint.
