Useful Information

  • In this project we used 37cm deep Metod high boxes which we fixed together and placed on the floor. To secure these boxes, we also hung them on the wall.

  • The seating area was made with 60 cm deep Metod boxes, which were placed on the floor.

  • Doors and hinges : Our doors are pre-drilled to fit the Metod cabinets. Allow for 6 packs of 2 Utrusta hinges (to be purchased at Ikea).

  • Sides: The finishing which cover the sides of this piece of furniture are screwed from the inside of the cabinet, with 25 to 30mm screws.

  • Cut-outs : To replicate this project, you will need to cut your 62x80cm panel in half, this will allow you to create two sides for the bench. You will also need to cut your 62x200cm panel to 62x123,6cm, in order to place it on the seat of the bench.
