Some practical info

  • Cabinet frame hack: Believe it or not, this layout was made from Metod cabinet frames! The 20x80cm Metod cabinet frames, originally designed to sit vertically, have been placed horizontally and suspended fwith a Metod rail(we modified the interior fixings so that they were horizontal too). The cabinet doors are fixed with Utrusta 100° hinges which open downwards. Holding them in place is a small magnet found in a DIY shop, which we placed on the top edge of the cabinet.


  • Doors: our Metod doors are pre-drilled to fit Metod cabinet frames using Utrusta hinges from Ikea.


  • Sides & cut-outs: Cover panels are used to cover the sides of the cabinet and are screwed on from the inside. Cut-outs are required to achieve this layout.
