Perhaps it's because they've just made their debut on our e-shop. Probably because they add the cherry on top of these creations. One thing is certain: since we saw them, floating shelves are one of our favourite design pieces. The beauty of them is that they seem to hang as if by magic. Both discreet and structuring, they divert attention to balance volumes and give rhythm to a layout. Let's take a look!
One module on the right, one module on the left. On paper, these bedside tables designed by Vanessa Faivre were extremely simple. That's before we take a look at the cluster of floating shelves which transform these nightstands into headboards! With their rounded shape, they appear almost like a fully custom made unit. Their light oak veneer creates unity with the wall panel while contrasting with the ice blue of the facades. An ultra inspiring project, which radically changes the look of a master bedroom.
Dressing + bench: it's a tried and tested combination, both in a child's room and in an entrance. Add a few floating shelves, and you get a layout that is both practical and aesthetic that will find its place in a living room. Installed in Studio Plum, this Lilac dressing room is framed by natural Oak finish panels that run up to the Ivory bench. Chosen in the same style, our Curved floating shelves play the continuity card to finish things off. Be sure to save this idea!
How about turning the constraints of your interior into opportunities? Take this alcove. Barbara Bachmann treated it as a separate element of this kids' desk. The colour, stretched to the corners, helps to define the layout, while the tone-on-tone floating shelves add depth. Add your kids' favorite posters, and you're done!
8 dresses, 12 shirts and as many jackets... promise, you've already cut down! Time to face the facts: one chest of drawers will not be enough. The question remains how to fit two large wardrobes in your room. Interior designer Fleur Delesalle has looked into the question for her clients. Installed on either side of the bed, the wardrobes create an alcove that could be overwhelming if they were not associated with a headboard. The floating shelf, on the other hand, allows to connect the two wardrobes and balance the volumes. Chosen in the same wood finish, the handles tie everything together.
How to fit a king size bed, a wardrobe and a desk into a handful of square meters? You have 2 hours! Hélène Lacombe, however, has solved the equation by imagining a work from home space that extends from the dressing room. Simply created using a wooden platform, it naturally fits into the space left vacant between the cabinets and the wall painted in the same shade. The floating shelves created in the same wood make the link between the dressing room and the office and allow for the addition of open, airy storage. An inspiring way to optimize space!
