Kitchen and bathroom
We advise against using our finishing panels as countertop, whether in a bathroom or a kitchen: they are not designed to withstand the prolonged effects of water in a bathroom, and could be damaged by contact with utensils, hot saucepans, etc. in a kitchen.
To have a countertop in the same colour as your fronts, you can approach a worktop specialist who works with Compact or Corian, two materials that can be stained in the colour of your choice. You can also consult waxed concrete manufacturers such as Mercadier, La Bonne Peinture or Marius Aurenti: they offer made-to-measure shades that could match our façades, or at least come close.
Other layouts
Note that you can use our finishing panels on the tops of sideboards, hall furniture, chest of drawers... You can put a plant (with saucer) on them, or decorations, books...
Lacquer is a material that scratches if rubbed or knocked too hard. So it's not recommended for a work surface or a surface that's subject to too much stress (a desk top, for example). If you're worried about using it inappropriately, you can opt for painted oak or natural oak, for example. Combining matte lacquer with a natural oak top is a combination that we also love at Plum Living!
