The wood we offer at Plum Living is not a decorative finish. It is a natural, living material, with its grain patterns, its nuances, its slight irregularities. This is precisely what makes it so rich, turning each project into a singular arrangement.
Conceived as a palette in its own right, our selection of natural woods — natural oak, honey oak, walnut — integrates seamlessly into your interiors. From the lightest to the most intense, each species carries a different intention, whilst retaining that essential connection to the raw material.
A single lot for a coherent project
Our natural wood fronts are made from real oak or walnut veneer, carefully selected according to a standard defined with our Portuguese manufacturer. From colour to grain to texture, each sheet is chosen for its consistency with the rest of the batch.
And because a kitchen or interior design project must be considered as a whole, each order is processed from a single batch. All your fronts come from the same set of sheets, to ensure harmony throughout your entire project.
Our expertise: the balance between industry & craftsmanship
Our natural wood fronts are made from a chipboard panel onto which a real wood veneer is glued. The whole is then covered with a matt protective varnish, which preserves the authenticity of the material while giving it strength and a soft feel to the touch.
This manufacturing process brings together more than ten key stages: sheet selection, cutting, assembly, gluing, shaping, finishing… each one overseen by constant quality checks. While production relies on precise industrial tools, the human hand remains at the heart of the process. It is this combination of technical know-how and artisanal skill that guarantees the quality and consistency of our fronts.
As for the slight variations that may appear from one piece to another – a shade of colour, a slightly more pronounced grain, a slight irregularity in the surface – these are not defects, but rather the sign of an authentic, natural material.
Natural Oak
Soft and luminous, natural oak reveals a subtle grain that gives full prominence to the material.
Its light tone brings a sense of balance and lightness, ideal for structuring a space without ever weighing it down.
It naturally finds its place in any layout, subtly highlighting lines and volumes.
Protected by a matt varnish, it retains its authentic look while becoming even softer to the touch.
Honey Oak
Warmer in tone, honey oak enriches the material with a golden hue, as though patinated by light. Its delicate grain catches the light and brings rhythm to surfaces, creating a balance between softness and character.
It adds depth to compositions whilst remaining easy to incorporate, naturally warming the overall look without ever overwhelming it.
Natural Walnut
Dense and deep, natural walnut asserts a stronger presence.
Its contrasting grain and brown shades bring texture and a truly graphic dimension to the fronts.
Its matt finish highlights the richness of the material while softening its intensity.
Each piece thus reveals its own variations, for a vibrant, elegant and decidedly distinctive look.
Our solid wood handles, crafted in Portugal
Designed to enhance our fronts, our wooden handles are handmade from solid oak and walnut by our Portuguese manufacturer. They are then stained, in the case of honey oak, and protected with a matt varnish. Distinctive and unique, they reflect all the richness of solid wood.
